Priya Raman is an independent education writer and the founder of Algebra of Owls. She is a former middle-school math teacher with more than ten years in the classroom, where she taught grades 6 through 9, tutored on weekends, and helped write curriculum for a small district.
She started Algebra of Owls to put a simple conviction into writing: almost any student can understand algebra when it’s explained in the right order. Today she writes and reviews every article on the site, tests explanations on real students whenever she can, and answers reader questions personally at priya@algebraofowls.com.
When she isn’t writing about equations, she’s usually out hiking or losing at chess to her daughter.
